This does look like original hose.Better pictures would help.Attachment holder is beyond rare!Wonder if it still has the poem under bag lid.Switch pedal seems good, they often broke.
That's a cheapie replacement hose. I had one of these beasts once upon a time. The hose was gold vinyl, rather heavy and thick-walled -- as over-engineered as the whole thing was.
If everything else is there and the vacuum is all good - the hose not being original is negligible to the value. That tool caddy is possibly the most elaborate tool caddy I have ever seen in my life!

My hose is much closer to the lighter color of the one in Maine.Could be that Charles hose was discolored from a smoker or wood burning heat OR they might have had 2 different suppliers.(It would be very difficult to change hose on the one above and have the ends look factory original.)
Has anyone noticed that for a Compact 'copy'the HC has something Compact never had--a cordwinder.
I have a Haley's Comet. Talk about an overgrown Compact on steroids. It's very heavy and hard to move around. It IS a conversation piece. The rug tool is useless unless you are on a wool area rug. Every time I use it I turn it right back off again and put it away, remembering why exactly I don't care for it.
doesn't the tool rack remind you of a converted record player 45 record rack? I can see adding a thick plastic horizontal panel, drilling holes for the tools and attaching that slanted grid-work to cradle the floor tool.
