had to laugh at this silly gumtree seller

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

WOW Old vacs are good deep cleaners so I must replace my Dyson's that do a good job with this stunning powerful apple red lightweight deep cleaner! I hope I buy it

Its amazing the sheer ignorance of some sellers - they are just as guilty on EBay as well, and on many ads I have emailed the seller to correct their mistakes. Sometimes I get a polite reply, other times none at all, but never has anyone replied rudely. The thing is that some people are just not vacuum savvy, and more so where older vacs and their estimates of their ages / values are concerned.

There was a seller recently in Stoke who put a collection of 5 old vacs on EBay (including a Ranger, a couple of Juniors etc and NOT in great nick either) wanting a massive £1500 for them. lol.

I've never really had a problem with sellers on EBAY but I have been ripped off by some guy called Paul who sold me a dodgy Miele S4210 and didn't have the heart to refund me. EBay UK and PayPal were no help as it was out of their guarantee period.

Still, I keep meaning to update my guides on there - I may of course mention his full name and address on one of those Guide reviews. Just to warn buyers.

I have updated a few of my Guides on there to point out that sellers can be fairly inaccurate with what they are selling and to walk away from massively over priced modern vacuums. Of course it is different with truly vintage vacs...

As for Gumtree, well they're the general public. 'Not their fault if they say it is vintage - they're probably desperate to get rid of it - it is a Vax after all underneath that BUSH badge (sold elsewhere in the EU)- and probably a screamer at that.
