Chrome Continentals & Classic
Besides the full-featured chrome Continental hood Model-Type 2364-A that began this thread were two more chrome Continental hooded vacs: the economy Model-Type 2314-A (attached photos from CL) with a 6-way Dial-A-Nap sans headlight and the Model-Type 2324-A with a 6-way Dial-A-Nap and headlight (attached 1978 advertisement). The chrome line also included the Model-Type 1444-A classic hooded vac (shown in Chad's brochure in reply #21).
There was also a bronze-colored Continental hooded series, Model-Types 2210-A & 2250-A (and presumably a third trim; attached 1977 & 1979 advertisements), with white brocade design bag jackets, possibly a 1400 series mate like the chrome series included, and at least one white-hooded Continental, Model-Type 2240-A, equipped with a blue kaleidoscope bag jacket, headlight, Rugulator & a VGII that matched the hood color & bag jackets of the Model-Types 1448-A & 1458-A (attached 1980 advertisement).
It seems that each had the same 3.5-amp motor.
I have been unable to find models 2236 & 2263 (listed in parts descriptions). It may be that they were limited editions or department store exclusives.
So Eureka produced 4 different-colored Continental-styled lines—between 10 and 12 model-types excluding private labels such as the Compact—from 1976 to c.1980: Wild Moss & Chrome (both launched in 1976), Bronze (launched in 1977), & White (launched in 1978).
Incidentally, it appears that the chrome Continental line was the last of Eureka's household F & G model hoods to be plated; the first being the Model 260 c.1961.
(Note the reflection in photo 3 that gives the impression of two dials. I did a double-take.)
