I had an issue with the Platinum last night. I just had new carpeting installed so I was vacuuming after the carpet installer left. Suddenly the vacuum quit running. I looked at the control panel and the only light on was the red overheated. I unplugged the vac, opened the bag door and it was overflowing! I did not see the bag full light come on. I put in a new bag, made sure the hose was clear and let the vac cool down for about 1/2 hour but when I turned it on again all the blue lights came on as per normal however the motor did not turn on. After a couple of seconds the red overheat light came on again so I uplugged it again. I tried again after 2 hours and still the same thing. I left it overnight, turned it on this morning and now it is working normal. Is it supposed to take so long to cool down and reset? Shouldn't the bag full indicator have come on long before the motor overheated? I sure wish this vac shut off when the bag was full like the older style Lux's.
