However, the tools on the new, Stainless sterel Connie are good.I would LOVE to get my hands on a U.K. floor brush..the one that "flips" like an Electrolux. That's on my list of "must haves".

My favourite tools at the moment are the Miele SFS10 Flexhose/extension hose and the Miele Flexi-Crevice tool - cleaning behind the larger appliances isn't a struggle now!

The old Kenmore flared crevice tool with the channel placed off-side - allowing the user to place the tool flat against a floor or a wall.....loved that design.

I really like the upolstery tool that came with my Miele. It always works well for me. Also, the turbo brush that came with my Eureka Airspeed that has riser viser is really effective and useful!

Can anyone tell me if the Dyson accessory kit fits any other vacuums - i.e. what's the mm sizing 3.2mm /32cm?

The electric power nozzle is God's gift to the vacuum cleaner. Best accessories ever added to a vacuum in my opinion. Thank you Lewyt for introducing it to the public.

Sebo fan, virtually all Dyson tools, not withstanding floor tools, would fit 32mm cleaners. The new cleaners have a clip fitting which was used initially on the DC16 hand held. To use these new accessories on 32mm cleaners, an adaptor is required. The adaptor is supplied with some accessories, but not others. However, you only need one adaptor per cleaner anyway. Basically, the DC14 was one of the last Dyson cleaners to use 32mm, so if an attachment says it will fit the DC14 (either with or without an adaptor), it will fit any 32mm cleaner.

turbo brush for the upholstery and drapery's,wow can it clean.Makes life easier than the ole standard upholstery brush.And having the barefloor tool,wands make cleaning the floors easier.Michael

Although I dont mind the Sebo or Miele mini turbo brushes, I do like the one offered by Electrolux, the ZE 060:

It's much smaller and more compact and I love the "Risor Visor" element that swings up or down instead of having to twist your arm and hand around if on the end of the hose/handle. Sadly doesn't fit Sebo but there's an adaptor that can be used for Miele or Bosch.

AEG duster

I would not know if it is my favorite or really ingenious, but I find it quite practical: An electrostatic duster brush for all those tiny spaces and areas where you wouldn't want to have direct suction (for fear the airstream might catch and swallow small figurines or delicate plant blossoms.)


You take the synthetic (electrostatic) duster out, dust a little and put it back in. Then you trigger the small lever and the air will whirl all dirt out of the fibers while recharging them with static. Let go and you are ready for next one (air stream is back on the wand). The plastic beaker fits between hose handle grip and wand. It was sold together with the AEG pro line canister vacuums (I think Sanitaire in the US).

This was also a feature on UK Electrolux Harmony Glider bagless uprights. I don't think it was that successful though as the duster container didn't scrape the actual duster close enough and when it was taken out to clean, dust was still attached to it, despite having a suction channel for the additional suction to suck out all the dust from it. Still a good idea, if you like waving dust around.

You are not going to believe this, but I actually think the bare floor brush provided with the Hoover Dimensions and Futuras in the 1980's was excellent. Borrowing an idea from Kenmore, the main bristles for this attachment were positioned in the centre of the brush - thus allowing dirt to be sucked in on both the forward stroke and the backward stroke. There was a smaller strip of bristles on each end of the brush to allow you to sweep right up to the baseboards. The Hoover version was better than the Kenmore in that the bristles were longer and the neck was angled better - resulting in easier floor cleaning.

Like Kenmore, Hoover designed this brush to easily store on board the main canister unit - both the Dimension and Futura canisters provided for this storage.
