Greetings one and all...
I'm planning to have another (and most likely final) "Great American Garage Giveaway" on Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 a.m. until--?! (See address below.) I'd love for you to come if you're available that day.
Here's the deal....... I'm not getting any younger. The thought haunts me sometimes of my taking flight off of this globe and leaving all that stuff behind for Arlee to have to deal with. That is not to say I fear he would be careless or irresponsible with it; I just don't want to burden him with it.
Mortality has really been brought close at hand with the death of my dear mother, the rapid onset of my second-oldest brother's terminal illness, and the sudden death of my oldest brother on Christmas Eve of 2014.
There won't be any work or cleaning this time; the garage is already tidy -- we'll just be pulling out and looking through stuff. I really do want to pass most of what's down there on to other folks, other than my very nicest Electroluxes and Kirbys. Whatever doesn't get taken will be put out for the trash collector. Even if you don't want to take anything, come on over anyway for some fun and "sweeper hobnobbing!"
I'll have bottled water and sodas available; if y'all would like to do a potluck that would be lots of fun. Just let me know yea/nay and what you'd be bringing.
Please let me know ASAP if you can attend so that I can finalize the date -- it'll depend, of course, on how many can make it.
