Hello everyone! My grandmother is moving into an assisted living facility and I've been helping her clean out the house in preparation to sell it. I came across this beautiful vacuum and thought it was unique enough to look into. Unfortunately, I can't find much information on it except through your (very thorough!) forum. Everything appears to work and all the accessories seem to be included. My grandma said she found it too heavy to carry up and down the stairs of her split-level, so it's not been used very much. There are also some of the original extra bags. I'm wondering if 1) anyone who is knowledgable can give me an idea of what this might be worth and 2) does anyone want to buy it or know of a shop in the Denver area that specializes in older vacuums?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. It's been exhausting going through the home they've lived in for 58 years! I know it'll take forever if I look up every single thing they own, but as I said I thought this was beautiful enough to learn more.

I'll Buy It

I live in Denver. Can't say for sure what it is worth, probably what someone is willing to pay for it. I would be interested in buying it from you. Do you have a figure in mind?

That is right!!

It's frequently difficult to set a "value" on a vintage vacuum. So few people want them. It's a nice machine, but it is not really "rare." It definately looks like it wasn't used much. I have a Dimension 1000, the newer one with the electronic speed control. Nice but heavy machine.

It looks to be in great shape. That unit is from the 1980's. They were heavy and built like tanks. One of Hoovers best canister vacs. I have 2 of the same unit.

Very powerful airflow!! I take the cardboard collars off of the Hoover M bags and glue them to Kenmore HEPA bags to be able to use a HEPA filtration bag in my Hoover Dimension 1000s.

I am actually trying to sell one of mine. I was thinking a ballpark price of $150 for one of those units in great shape. Some might argue that is a steal. Others might argue that is a ripoff. Who knows, just depends on whos willing to open a wallet and for what price!! Sometimes you just have to guess and come up with a figure if no one offers anything.

Here's pictures of my Hoover Dimension 1000's below.

Dimension 1000 - want to buy

I'll buy it if anyone still has one. Some years back I bought a replacement hose and it cost over $100. So I'd imagine that would be the minimum price to pay.
