Got some more Dysons!

Hi Jacob,

I'd say you got a pretty good price for the four of them! I've only ever used a DC01 and DC03 briefly; they do have weaker suction power than later models DC04 onwards (though only noticeable when using the tools) but are nice cleaners still. Good to see that they still have the attachments onboard, so many people lose them over the years.

You'll have to examine the DC05 when it arrives to troubleshoot why it won't work, but you've listed the main reasons- other possibility is a faulty switch. They are quite easy to disassemble and work on following various guides online. I'd usually start by unwinding the cable and see if it is visibly damaged, badly twisted etc- try cutting off around 15cm of cable at the end and attach a new plug if it looks worn. Sometimes it is the simplest things! A continuity tester (cheap one is fine) is very helpful in working out where any loose connections etc are.

Let us know how you get on.

Plenty of information to come, the left DC01 looks to have no tools but will get a full set, shame that Dyson have stopped selling parts for the DC01 and DC02!

Thanks

The dyson dc05s are getting more and more fragile these days, however as rob 89 said you need to check the basic fault points out first. I use to have a dc05 and that died with dignity!
Hope we can chat more Jacob!

Some time ago I bought a DC05 of eBay that would not power up, the cable had broken just where it enters the autocord rewind, it was a son of a ***** to rewire, if you can't get hold of cheap second hand auto rewind I would go for that! But hopefully it will be the switch of connection near the plug! :D

The DC05 has a bit of the cable missing, so the same as your problen!

Sold one of the DC01's for £10, if anyone is intrested in any of the others let me know!
