Now I know.....

A 475!   I had to cobble together a handle and a cord for it out of bits I had lying around.  I dressed it in the bag off of my 700 for the photo shoot.  After some cleaning up it runs like new!

But that's not all........

While out for a walk I passed a garage sale and my vac-dar went on high alert when I spotted behind a pile of stuff that oh-so-familiar red switch on a rosey-colored handle..............a 65!   The hood is warped and the original bag is long gone, but I'm still tickled pink!

And, as if that wasn't enough.....

I played my cards right and snagged yet another of my most sought-after vacs, just like the one that my school chum's mom had.   Years ago I bought a replacement bag just in case one ever turned up.  That, plus several hours of cleaning and polishing and I think I did ok.

Yaaaay! What a fabulous gathering of new finds! Thanks so much for sharing! We'll have to be on the lookout for a bag for that 65! I bet you're tickeled *pink* !! All 65s have warped hoods, Hoover didn't get the plastic mix quite right. Some early model 66s have that same issue, as do model 31s. Over time they warped.

That DS80 is beautiful

Congratulations on a great find! My favorite 500 series Kirby (if you can call it a 500 series) is the Sanitronic VII. I was blessed a couple of months ago with one from eBay from a seller who happens to be a member of this club. Thank you Kenny. I hope I get to meet you at the convention.

Neil, I would say that you have had a some fantastic luck.  Great machines.  You did a fantastic job on that Kirby.
