The Eureka i picked up a few weeks ago has a replacement bag on it that I see on a lot of models like it from the same era. From what I can tell it should have a God bag with a box top! so heres my question... Does anyone on here have a pattern or experience sewing vacuum bags, Is this even possible? what kind of material would you use?

andy advice is greatly appreciated.

Any boats in your area? I live near the water and we have plenty of boats.
This means we also have plenty of upholstery places that have commercial sewing machines that primarily serve the boating community, but do other jobs as well. Like car interiors, furniture upholstery, etc. They may be able to help.

I measured my Montgomery Wards box top bag. Here are the deminsions.

Square top is 4" deep x 8" wide.

Length of bag is 25 to 26 inches long, then the bellows with 2 screw adapter. There is a cardboard insert in the top of the bag to keep the square shape.

Here is a picture of mine. The gold brokade bag is some kind of vinyl material, not cloth like the one in my pictures.

Takes F & G paper bags. The last picture is a picture of a two speed maroon upright with a genuine eureka bag, that they sell on ebay for 30 some dollars. It is a triple filter multi color bag and it has black, gold, burgandy and white colors in it that would be an alternative if you decide not to make a box top bag.

Thank you for your measurements. I have them written down. Now's it just comes down to finding the right material to make it out of.

Oddly I have a Heavy Duty seeing machine.

Thanks for your help!

Your welcome, on the length, remember to add enough length to wrap under the fill tube adapter. You can attach the bag to the fill tube with wire or a couple of long plastic ties. I would wrap the wire or ties in somekind of tape, like electrical to keep it from rubbing against the inside of the lower bag.
