It's time to part with my collection! I want to give away the WHOLE collection in one easy step. If there are any Washington state collectors who want to come just east of Bellingham, Wa and get it, it's yours. There are boxed and boxes of Lux machines, hoses and tools, There are boxes of Kirby and Hoover tools, There are even some rare finds from Lux such as one of the "trial" electric hoses. The are lots of Hoover, 2 62's and a 63 and Kirby uprights including some of the fun mid 60's Hoovers and a chrome Hoover Guardsman. There are 2 Kirby Heritage machines with the SMALL NOZZLES! Scads of power nozzles for Lux and Hoover and there's a Singer C-1 in it's box.
I will not start opening boxes to tell you if I have this or that! It's take it ALL or No thanks! No shipping, either! IT's come and get it or leave it to go to the crusher. The crusher would be sad! It all needs to be gone by the end last week of June.

I do reserve the right to pull out a piece or two as we open things!

I'll tell you! I want and need to get rid of my collection ASAP and I offered it to anyone who would come and it ALL, no exceptions. In less than a minute I get this rude response. It has hurt me feeling and so I removed my offer. It's quite a collection, but now it's going to the dump. Greg

I certainly.....

wouldn't discredit the OP unless you know the full story. It's more than possible that someone here was incredibly rude to him. I've seen before that if someone is giving away vacs, they get rude replies because they don't want to package and send across the country.

If you can't get to Sumas, let him do what he has to do.....rather than insult him.

That is true.

An owner may do whatever he/she wants with a collection. Sure, it would be a very sad day to see anything happen to machines. Some people can be very rude and insulting....they simply don't know any better. Some try to taunt others by saying... they'll go to a dumpster, crusher, etc. Go ahead! If you do, you do. I'm not going to run after someone saying, "Oh, please, don't. I'll take it'.
In all seriousness, though, a collection is one's to do with what they please. It's sad that some people can be so mean. Hopefully, some of these machines will find great new homes.... in the hands of grateful people.
Good luck with whatever you decide. I hope none of gets that dismayed by the bad manners of a handful of others.

Absoutely agree....

it is entirely their choice to do whatever they want with their collection.

One hobby I have....there was a dealer up in Canada that took truckloads of NLA NOS parts to the dump. I nearly lost my mind just thinking about it. But then I found out that he had been sitting on these parts forever with nobody ever coming FWD with any interest. It seems in talking with other rural Canadians, eBay is not that viable of a source up there after shipping & fees are attached. They use their own local services like a Craigslist.

If someone is doing the proverbial swan dive and threatening/taunting to take their stuff to the dump....let 'em....who needs the drama....lol

Vacs

I agree there has been a few on here that has really been rude and hurtful but i thought dont let the immature peaple get to you they just make there self look bad.

As a......

addendum to this.....Greg the OP, is a stand-up guy all around. He drove probably a half hr down from Sumas to deliver a number of vacs to me. I was in a hurry to get home across the state....he was more than kind.

One of the vacs was a new-in-the-box reissue Connie that I couldn't be more proud of.

So the moral here is definitely don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Ergo, don't assume anything until you know all the facts.
