I use the following when cleaning.......
seeing as I just cleaned last night, I used the following to clean.
Electrolux Commemorative Edition Canister with power nozzle and hard floor tool.
Microfiber Cloth with water only wrung out as much as possible for the mirrors and glass over pictures.
Microfiber Cloth spritzed lightly with windex for dusting wood furniture that does not get lemon oil. Wet dust doesn't fly. Also use on laptop keyboard and washer and dryer.
Microfiber Cloth saturated with lemon oil, that I keep in a plastic bag for storage when not in use for antique end tables, vintage pump organ, etc.
Lambswool duster for cabinets, Electrostatic duster for window blinds, tv screens, and fireplace surround.
Kitchen counters and sink get washed with Dawn Dish Soap, all else goes in dishwasher.
Bathrooms sinks and toilets get washed down with Lysol Disenfectant and the Vinyl Shower and Tubs get Kaboom Bathroom Cleaner. Wet down with water first, then sprayed and then scrubbed with a microfiber bathroom spong.
Wood floor in foyer, tile floors in kitchen, and two baths get cleaned with a Haan Steam Cleaner or a Microfiber mop spritzed with Kirby Floor Cleaner (Great Stuff).
So here is my order of cleaning,
Dust blinds, kitchen chairs, and cabinets with Lambswool duster. Also use on light fixtures.
Wash Kitchen counters and sink and wipe down appliances.
Vacuum all hard surface floors.
To dust and polish funiture, I remove and windex all items on whatever piece of furniture I am doing and set them aside. Then dust or polish said furniture and replace items. Then go to the next....Sometimes I dust all the rooms and then vacuum. Sometimes I do room by room.....
Vacuuming carpet and under beds is the last thing I do before cleaning the bathrooms. When I am done with the bathrooms, I steam clean the tile floors.
If I want to use one of my uprights, I always team it with a canister for above floor cleaning and under beds, otherwise any canister I have will do both.
Favorite Upright - Kirby Sentria II, hopefully soon to be 100th anniversary.
Favorite Canisters, I have (2), a Rainbow E2Black all time favorite and then of course the true Electrolux's (Aerus) canisters.
I love my vintage machines and use upgraded filtration when available, but usually I use them for my quick pick ups between a through cleaning. I am not saying they will not clean as well, just that filtration was not as good when they were made. If I use them, I have to dust more frequently....
Sincerely,
PR-21
Bud
