Very odd hoover upright, looks like a hoover special or some other kind of rebuild.

It's a Model 300. Only sold in the US, 1935-38. I eventually intend to add one to my collection, when I a) have the funds and b) find someone willing to ship one to the UK...

The bag on that one is a replacement, but the rest's all as it should be. The motor hood was designed by Henry Dreyfuss - I have a pdf. of his original patent for the design somewhere...

Model 300 Hoover

The Model 300 was the economy priced model that sold next to the moderately priced model 25 and the Deluxe model 150. It was also the last of the round motor Hoovers. I have a 300 in my collection that just arrived Tuesday and runs like a champ! Had a set of cleaning tools with it but had the wrong hose adapter (or maybe the wrong set of tools altogether!) so I can't use them. Got the whole works, including shipping, for a bit less than the one that's on ebay now!
