Sorting out some junk today and came across the vacuum sections my Uncle and another friend sent me from England and Germany in the late 70's and early 80's so I thought I'd scan them and add them here.

First up - Shoppers World Catalogue (The asterix was put on the Goblin 666 to indicate it was the machine my aunt had at the time. Wish I had it)

Thank you that was a interesting look into the not so distant past. I have rather a few of the vacuums featured in these catalogue's.
The Electrolux 190 was just recently added and so was the Moulinex major which my Mom had.

The Vortice aqua vac was sold In SA as a Electrolux Aquavac

Love the German vacuums they look really awesome. I have a few of those AEG's aswell

The Hoover Junior with hard-bag was quite an odd one, in the sense that it had the appeal of what was (even back then) an old fashioned cleaner, but with a modern plastic box on the front. Perhaps it was for those who were quite conservative but were ready for just a little bit of excitiment.

Hoover Junior hard bag

We had those in SA. It was odd machine They seem to have sold fairly well as I saw many of them in my early years of vacuum repair Now that I want one I havent seen one in 15 years.

Ours were dark cream and brown and Light grey and light grey ( newer style )

A trip down memory lane-

With great gratitude, I want to thank you, for this posting.

Watching, analysing, date categorization, eye to detail, colours in era or development, are all factors a collector's appreciation in careful reading and just getting lost in nostalgia, seeing these advertising materials from the past, Man it is sooooooo cool.

Gareth, I hope that you are appreciating this as much as I am, seeing that some of your latest finds, have detail in these ads.

Thank you, yet again. I have many of these cleaners in your scans in my collection, and appreciate that detail like advertising a crucial part of history do not vanish.

AEG there is not so much info to be found, especially the stick vacs and uprights.

Adrian
