Re: Reply 6

While in an antique store recently I came across a "Capri" hand-vac made by National Cooperatives, Inc. in its original box insert with a couple disposable bags but sans any attachments. It was identical to the Model 150/Eureka Whisk in reply #6 except, of course, for the Eureka logo and the Capri name badge. I am taking for granted that the name of the blue color elicited the naming of this rebadge. The manual listed two models of the Capri: 15-A and 15N-A. The cleaner had obviously been owned by someone who was quite particular about record keeping as s/he had type-written the date it was purchased (in 1968) and some other details onto the manual.

I was wondering if anyone else has ever heard of a Capri hand-vac or perhaps owns one? I am also curious to know if National Cooperatives rebadged other cleaners such as Eureka uprights. Does anyone have information?

Vacs (and cars)

I also have the Eureka box above and have been curious about the car pictured. It seems to be a Chrysler product.Barracuda?Dart??Other???
As to GEs I have 2 different MV2s on EBay now and the gray MV1 next week.Great vacs with real attachments and then came Eureka and Oreck. As with many products the first(GE in this case)seems to be the best.

General Electric made the MV1 and MV2. When GE sold to Premier (Whirlwind), they also private labeled the machine for Eureka. The word "Whisk" was used on two Eureka models, the one they made (that uses the R bag) and the one private labeled by Premier (uses Eureka W bags).

Eureka did NOT make the machine.

When I was a kid I had a Wards Signature hand vac that looked a little like that blue Eureka. I don't recall too much about it but the nozzle had a similarly swoopy design.

The the car on the Eureka box looks very GM to me, mostly like a '64 Impala.
