I just picked up an interesting GE food processor at Goodwill for $3. I believe it dates from the late '70s, based on the almond and brown color scheme and the non-polarized plug. It is unlike any other food processor I have seen. Unlike most food processors, where everything twists and locks into place, this one has a metal locking pin on the lid with a release button on the body of the machine. The really oddball part is on the underside of the container, which has a coupling like a blender to attach it to the motor unit. This one only has one speed with an on/off switch and a pulse button but apparently, there was also a six-speed version with a blender jar. The blades are pretty basic—a chopping blade and a two-sided slicing/shredding disc. While handy for storage, I can't imagine why one would want to use it such a configuration, but you can install both blades at the same time. The thing seems to be very well built—almost commercial grade by modern standards—and appears to have seen very little use. I didn't really need it but for $3, it just had to come home with me. I'll post photos tomorrow but for now, here's a photo of one I found online.
