I have given up collecting as I have no room for a bunch of machines in my small flat. I gave the 700 along with the tools and paperwork to a youtuber who collects. I also gave a hoover spirit and an old goblin to them also.

I kept my Hoover 375 as it does a great job on my axminster carpets. Before letting the 700 go I replaced the original 700 bag (near perfect condition)with an after market replacement bag as I did not wish to let that go for nothing as it is too valuable to just give away. I will keep the bag and the orange instruction tag for now till I decide when to sell.

I tried offering it as a trade for a nice bag for my 375 but no one seemed interested. I had to buy another 375 to get the bag I needed which was ok as I now also have a spare motor unit to ensure my old girl runs for my lifetime. ( I hope). Along with umpteen belts, sweeping brushes and carbon brushes she will go on for ages.

You can't beat quality and reliability when it comes to the old vacs as they were made to last. People spent a lot of money back in the day buying these cleaners and the companies knew this which is why they wanted to give their customers good quality products.

Too bad it is not like that today. Cheap products made of flimsy materials for expensive prices. Just look at the bagless crap you can pick up at the supermarkets today.

Sorry to hear that....

Personally, I would love to park a car and truck in my garage except it is crowded with vacuums. A couple of weeks ago, I gave away some Kenmore Uprights to a Church Sale and next week I am donating more to an organization that benefits Aids Services.

Good clean machines and extra bags makes a nice donation.

Of course that creates a "vacuum" sucking in more vacuums which I keep coming across. Found a Lindhaus with 8 bags, A Kirby Omega...because I have some boxes accessories and a Hoover ES (I think that is it)...the hood looks vintage.

I wish I had a bench Grinder/Buffer so I can finish buffing my Sanitronic 80, then my 519, then the Heritage an lastly, the Omega.

$20 got me a Classic III that turned out to have been in a flood...rats had eaten into the bag..ugh!.so I harvested some parts which will go to the Omega. So what if the emptor tray is red.

Sorry for the ramble. Take care everyone.
