Over the past 2 weeks, I have noticed that the website for Garry is not available. I wonder if they have finally gone out of business yet or not, I always hear negative feedback about the vacuum and the company. I've only used a Garry once that was in for repair at my old vacuum store, I thought it performed much worse than a Oreck and I think it's one of the worst vacuums that I have ever used. But I would be curious to hear from others that know more than me if they have gone out of business or not.

I don't know. So I can't answer for sure. The 'free bags' thing was a gimmick. I haven't seen an infomercial for them for at least the last few years, perhaps they believed that the lifetime of a Garry was just a couple of years before the trash can. The connecting collar of the bags is unique, so even if you have a perfectly functioning Garry, you cannot use it without a bag.

Like the Halo and the Fantom, the Garry is another one for the Museum now.

I have only seen one Garry upright in person, it was at a vac shop and they wanted over $150 for it used. It looked to me like it would be ok for light surface cleaning. What was the "free bags" thing though? Never heard of it.

The Scam was: "Free" bags for life. The bags come in a pack of 8. You (the Garry owner) call the company, who charges you $9.95 for "shipping" and $3 for "packing". The cardboard collar on the bags was unique for the Garry, and to my knowledge there were no 'aftermarket' bags ever made for it.

The same fate befell the first Halo upright (there were 2 different models, Oreck only bought the rights to the second one). Once the supply of bags dried up, the machines were (mostly) discarded. That's why I have an almost new Halo (first model) and 2 packs of unopened bags in the collection. One day, probably 20 years from now (If I'm alive to see it), some kid is going to say "Oh My God, you have a HALO. I wannnnnnnnt it. Pleeeeease."

Yesterday I heard one person say that the website was not available for months now and they were filing for bankruptcy earlier this year but I can't really confirm if that's really 100% true or not.

I would like to start my own retail business soon and need some feedback on social media promotion. Does anyone here use Instagram? How do you manage your accounts (I mean personal managing)? https://spamguardapp.com/ is an application that I was advised to use for cleaning spam messages and followers. Any tips on that?
