Garbage Finds.

These did not come from garage sales, but found them on my way to a sale. A hoover SteamVac, one of the first because there is no SpinScrub Brushes. I swear to you this is brand new. It has the original Factory Film Cover over the recovery tank, and the recovery tank is perfectly white, no dirt, no dirt in the clear part where it sucks all the water up, and the solution tank has no stains. The whole thing was just dirty. Probably Sat in a basement. And the Eureka Bravo II came from the same place...EWWWWWWW. The bag was stuffed full, had to way 10 pounds. Very dirty and it stinks, all it has is the crevice tool. The only reason I got it was because my old neighbor had one, and I was in love with it, so it brings back many memories. But it does run fine.

Its been a long time since I've seen an old hoover steamvac. Could you post a few pictures, and a review of its performance if you decide to use it?

That eureka bag looks like garden hose material. I'd take it off, turn it wrong side out, take it outside and blast the crud out of it. It should turn out fine, but the smells can be hard to get out.

i have the very same eureka...its soooo loud! does a great job tho...i found mine in the basement of my other job...left for dead.but a new belt,brushroll.,,giv the bag a good hose down and a couple of washes in the washers xtra-long cycle...some liq fab softener and it will smell purdy and filter great...its a beast.

The Hoover's been used anyway. You can see the fluff inside the nozzle and fuzz caught up in the brush. I'd use it....

It's not an early model, and it's not a late model. It's somewhere inbetween. I do find it interesting that it doesn't have the spin-scrub brushes though. At least it was a "Made in USA" model! Pre-TTI takeover for sure.

judging by the serial number it looks to have been made in June 1995, and I do believe that this was a fairly early model

06 95 isn't Hoover a gem adding a date into the prefix of a serial #

either way you got yourself a sweet find....awsome. but makes you wonder what are people thinking when they toss out something thats visibly in mint condition?....one mans trash is anothers treasure

Bottom of my scrub vac is all metal.
I think people just have no use for soemthing & don't need it taking up room but I hope they wish someone finds it at the curb or else donates it so that a charity can make a few $ & someone can find treasure in anothers trash...

Nice finds

On both vintage and contemp. I agree with Sam on the date, I belive it was one of the first to have the tool port for the hose. Im pretty sure the first Steam-vac's did not come with a tool port,I could be wrong those may have just been BOL.
