Yes, found in the garbage today! The Bissel sounds good to go, just needing a cleaning, Eureka (with the exception of the dirt cup) seems to be so full of crap the hose is wayyyy backed up so a huge cleaning in order.
I don't think I would ever want to use even a brand new bagless for cleaning my house, but for free, and if you don't mind cleaning out all the unsanitary filth, they're fun to play with.
Those are the same ones we get in the garbage here too... people just throw them way when the tank gets full and go to Wal-mart for a new one... Of course I've never had enough pity to rescue one! I have a friend who has gotten many of both the green Eureka and the Bissells out of the trash and cleaned them up and sold them on C/L for 15 dollars each!
I take these to part them out and then ususally throw the plastics away. That being said, the pile continues to grow and the parting out does not happen. My wife gets a bit irked about that but the house is big
Of course I am not above reselling them if they are good to go as is, like the bissel. That I have had moderate success with, usually around $25 bucks.
Cool finds, is the Eureka missing the filter assembly or is it me lol? Nice to see the Eureka has mini brush and duster still with it. You sure are having some luck at the curb =)
I love the way the upholstery nozzle, dusting brush and crevice tool are stored on board that black Eureka Self-Propelled Boss SmartVac. There are neat little nooks and crannies molded into the top of the bag holding body that are designed to hold these three attachments.
OH yeah, I forgot to comment on the Eureka Self Propelled... I do like the looks of it, but I always thought they should have had a better brushroll... the used the same brushroll that was in the standard Victories and Whirlwinds and I never thought it was aggressive enough... even the one on the early Bravos was contoured and had angled bristles... I saw one at a flea market when I went to Wilton Manors a few weeks ago and I almost bought it but they wanted like 45 dollars for it and I thought that was just too much!
There was a recall on those Hoover cord reels. Many problems.
The black Eureka SP is pretty cool. The drive mechanism is pretty unique. It used a cable, small independant motor, and gearbox to drive the one wheel (if I remember correctly). Not many of these around.
Seeing that red Bissel reminds me of the original bag Lift-Off from the 90's.
