Gadget show review cordless vacs

For our friends across the pond, Gadget Show is a consumer technology program on channel 5 (eek!)

This week they reviewed cordless vacuums, including the AEG Ultrapower, Dyson DC59, Vax Life Unplugged, Morphy Richards super vac , Bissell liftoff, Gtech air-ram and the Hoover unplugged.

No surprises as to which one won, quite deservedly so. Disappointing it didn't last 20 minutes..

I find that cordless vacuums will never match the performance of a full size upright (unless it's a DC01, anything can beat that!)

Thanks for sharing pity they didn't show a little more of the others like the Hoover and AEG, I REALLY want that Dyson if I ever see a one for a good price I will snap one up!

Well, yeah, no cordless vac will ever match a full-size upright (or canister, for that matter). Still, for what it is, that Dyson's not half bad.

You wont catch me paying the prices asked for a Dyson digital slim. Never in a million years are they worth the prices demanded.


I am quite happy with my B&D Dustbuster that I got from B&M for £27. Dyson handhelds are SO overpriced and overhyped.

I love our DC16, its very handy and gets used a surprisingly large amount.

It did cost £15 for the machine and another £20 for a new battery though, much more justifiable than £300 fecking quid!

That's a great price, I am tempted to have a look and see if I can find a cheap one. Would be handy for my little attic bedroom

Yeah, at that price it's a good deal.

No way in heck would I pay full price for one, but then, that's true of a lot of otherwise-good vacuums. I wouldn't pay full price for a Filter Queen, either, and yet, that's my daily driver...
