Happy holidays fellow collectors. Since I'm home for the holidays and I don't have much going on this week, I thought I would like to share of what I've built in high school a long time ago and in college.

My major in college is Cabinetry and Architectual Woodworking so that's something I'm very interested in doing for a career and I'm overall really enjoying it. My favorite things I like doing so far for now is steam bending and finishing up projects like staining, painting, etc.

So here's what I made so far:

First one is a night stand, I made this in high school. The wood is Alder and the finish on this is Lacquer.

This one is a lamp, this was also made in high school and it's one of my favorites. The wood is soft pine and the finish is also Lacquer. The lamp kit along with the shade was bought from Lowe's.

Thanks John, I was given an option back then if I wanted to laser engrave something on top or not, I was thinking about putting the current Kirby logo on top but I decided to leave it as it.

Here's my next one, a wood pen. This was actually my very first project that I had done in high school. To be honest, I could've done better. The wood is out of maple and the finish is wiping varnish, of course I also added my name on it by laser engraving.

Thanks John.

Next one is a rolling pin, I also made this in high school. It's got several mixes of colorful wood on it I can't remember what they are but the sticks is definitely Alder. The finish is Mineral Oil.

Next one is a wood tie with Denver Broncos logos that I laser engraved on, this was the last project that I made in high school. The wood is Cherry and the finish is Lacquer.

I'll also tell about some other projects that I made but I unfortunately don't have them anymore.

I've made another night stand in high school similar to the first one above but it was more durable than the other one above and it looks a little different as well, same wood and same finish as well but I've given that to my brother at his house and it has since been painted blue.

I've made some doughnut holders for a wedding one time but they wanted to keep them so I let them have it.

I also made another wood pen similar to the one above but I gave that to my mom she still uses at work.

I also made another wood tie but it didn't turned out as good as I wanted it to so I gave it to my class mate for him to finish.

I made a bunch of wood spoons with my grandpa for him to give away to his neighbors.

And the last one that I can think of is I made some earrings with some exotic wood on it but I gave that to my Girlfriend.

Next one is called a "Johnny Cabinet". This is also one of my favorites as well but this happens to be one of the hardest ones that I made in college because the wood on this is very soft and the window was a pain to make. The wood is Cedar which happens to be my favorite type of wood of all time and the finish is Lacquer.

My Dad

Could do anything with a piece of wood...he carved baskets out of peach seeds with his pocket knife..I cant carve ANYTHING..LOL, But he worked in the veneer dept of Bernhardt Furniture Co for many years, he did all the intricate inlays on fancy table tops etc.

Used to do carpentry and cabinet work-these pretty pieces being shown here makes me so want to clear a path to my Shopsmiths and put them to work.Like cedar wood,too-finishes nicely and the smell of it as you work it!!!And it naturally repels insects.Wished I had a SHOP to put my Shopsmiths in-right now they are in my living room with a bunch of vacuums and piles of books around them!

Yeah that's another reason why Cedar is my favorite, I love the smell of it. I'm looking forward to build something out of White Cedar next semester.

Next one is a Bowed table. The wood and veneer is out of Walnut with a MDF board that's being covered by the veneer and the finish is Lacquer.

Next one is called a tool box stand, this was my first project that I made in college. The wood is rustic cherry, it's got brown stain on it, and the finish is Lacquer.

Tool box stand--too nice to have that in a shop where it will get beat up-keep that in the house!!!Get a metal Kobalt Craftsman or similar metal tool box stand for the shop-no big deal if one of those gets beat up.

Haha

I never really wanted to use that as a tool box in the first place, plus I spent alot of money on building this so this would probably be used as like a TV stand or something like that.

Last one I'm showing is a chair, this was the project that I made recently a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I didn't get this project done in time because we had WAY too many students this semester and there weren't enough machines for us to use so now this is still over there waiting to get finished next semester. The wood is beech, and we had to use a choice of color paint as a finish so I picked white because it was the cheapest. I also made a seat pad with a cover of my choice so I picked light blue to match the chair.
