He is an embarrassment to vacuum cleaner collectors and enthusiasts. People watching that are going to think we're all sad, lonely virgins with only our vacuum cleaners for company. I do agree with him on some of the points he raised re the new EU regulations, but I can't believe David Hockney painted that Sensotronic.

Roger, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Those who find it offensive must really lack a good sense of humor. Some of my friends and my girlfriend (and yes, I do have friends and a girlfriend) find my interest in vacuums to be a bit odd, but I just shrug it off and don't let it bothjer me.

Obviously the character in the video is completely fictional and an overly exaggerated stereotype based on anyone who has an unusual interest or collection. Hopefully most people will see that I am basically poking fun at myself over my interest in vacuum cleaners, which even I think is a bit odd.
I know most of the UK collectors who have seen it found it very funny and viewed it knowing that it was tongue in cheek and not meant to cause offence to anyone.
Kevin will be back in a few months and I have a feeling we will be seeing his new girlfriend.

Listen guy's i love my vacuums as much as you all do it is a joke!! , an exaggeration of us with a few little bits of us thrown in.
I often get taken the mickey out of but i take it with a pinch of salt!!! meaning its nothing to worry about i love my vacuums as much as the next man on here.
God i thought most of you would see the funny side of this, It is only a joke and over the top video, which i thought might actually make people laugh on here.
My grand parents always said to me if you can laugh at your self, you have conquered everything in life.
Please do be aware that this is a joke .This is simply a laugh. I thought this might be fun for all of us clearly i was wrong.
I must say my fellow vacuum enthusiasts in my home town, I have not had an issue with this and have emailed this to one another because we knew it was a joke .
From now on i wont bother to post humorous video's , I am sorry for the offence this has caused.
I must say i think this has caused me to wonder with the exception of a good couple of friends if perhaps i should leave the site for such a negative response.
I really thought this might make us all laugh,and humour is something from time to time we all need.

I think most people knew that the video was an affectionate p**s take and not an attack on us vacuum loving folks. Mark has summed it up perfectly and obviously got the joke, but you can't please everyone all the time and I've stopped trying.
When I started my youtube channel I was suppressing certain parts of my personality, thinking my style wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but now I think, if you don't like me, who cares? I make videos about vacuum cleaners which I try to make informative and entertaining for enthusiasts like us and also for the general public who are looking for advice. Some of the videos I make are aimed more at collectors and tend to be a bit more jokey in their content and the other more factual reviews are for those people who may be looking to buy a particular model and want to know more about it.

I think it's probably good to take a moment to go and look at the media frenzy in the UK towards vacuums at the moment before watching this.

As am American, I don't understand all the hoopla over the new energy regulations. We never had vacuums that uses nearly so much electricity as Europe, yet our vacuums are extremely powerful. And, they have to clean thicker carpets. Our 1200 watt canisters have more than 100 inches of water lift. I think it's perfectly reasonable to use vacuums with lower electrical draw.

As a collector I found this over the top rendition to be quite funny. However to the people who have no interest in vacuums it does send a negative message that we are all like Kevin when noone is really like Kevin also I saw a video not to long ago that showed a child with some sort of mental disability and they were saying that it was the cause or a disability in it self to be"obsessed" with vacuum cleaners and the none vacuum enthusiasts on YouTube the comments were less than pleasant talking about taking someones Dysons away saying they have this disorder anyone who collects is a loon and that is not the case as we all know. I have a wife and a friends and they all think it's a weird thing they know I'm not nuts but I think if more videos are taken serious by the average YouTube watcher's we will be thought of as more on the looney bin side

Well all collecting has some degree of obsession its only bad if it takes over your life.
As for collecting in my case a few vintage collectibles that happen to be vacs i see nothing wrong with that, machines in my case from the 1920s to 1960 cut off point for me are no different or less iconic that collecting perhaps electric vintage desk fans.
The most iconic things in the home are often the type writer the electric desk fan the Telephone and the fridge and the record player the radio, the gramaphone
If people cant see that a vacuum from 1930s is not collectible and of interest then they are simply stupid.
All of those items have designs that represent the decade they were made in, if the ordinary person cant see the value of an elderly appliance such those mentioned they are surely very silly indeed.
If people did not collect such things there would be no antiques of the future and any specimens for the future to be had, or even donated to museums.
Yes there are people who do have mental difficulty that do collect vacuums but then such people also collect other things such as bottle caps and so on.
There are many vacuums that have much art deco inspired design that in itself are a work of art along with other contemporary products of a similar time.
These products were also designed by famous designers and engineer's something that is worth preserving.
For the average dummy who wishes to use a few examples of taring all with the same brush clearly has no foresight or understanding of the value of historic items.
To consider all vacuum collectors as having mental problems is rather blind, and perhaps they should actually study something before passing comment and check out the prices on ebay and antique shops before passing on ignorant comments.
I have a fare few electric fans from 1912 to 1940 they are going up all the time, seems to me i will be having a good investment for the little i paid.They can only go up and so will vacuums in years to come.
Along with my fans i have a hoover 800 a hoover 825 and an early dustette 100 and now a lovely art 1930s deco electrolux z25
A few cameras of the age along with some 1920s telephones an hmv 102 in red and my newest vac a 1960 electrolux z65 which is my cleaner for use.I will stretch to a hoover senior for daily use and thats me done.
I would like a 1950s fridge duke boxed shaped for my beers I see no obsession here but simply investing my money and showing some good taste of an era now long gone.
I see no mental issue for me with that, and all are investments for the future.My message to people who can not see the value of these things is check out ebay!
THE money value says it all for all the above items.

Im bloody proud to own my vacs , all i get is very positive results from none vac collector's
However if i start sleeping in bed with my 25 i think i might book an appointment with the Dr lol,but until then im as normal as i wanna be
