I once had a man come into a shop I worked at in the 80s, and ask me for some Vacum, Not vacuum but vac-um bags,when I inquired what kind of vacuum...he replied a A-ric-a...I assured him I had never heard of such a brand to which he replied that he couldnt git nuthin in this damn town...I asked him to spell the name for me...you guessed it,Eureka!!I then asked was it an upright or canister, he replied, one of them thair kind that stands up!!But the absolute funniest thing I ever heard of happening in a vac shop was... A little old lady brought in a Electrolux,when asked what was the trouble she replied..I dont know whats wrong with my Electriclux, thars far shootin out of its ass!!

Ken, I'll start making a list of crackhead comments. Although today, I had a lady come in with a Dirt Devil warranty repair. She bitched up and down about how Wal Mart should have replaced it, etc. Then I told her it would probably be 5-7 business days before it would be ready (TTI sends me the part), she hit the roof. She couldn't understand why her expensive vacuum cleaner was going to take so long to fix, and why it was already falling apart. It was an $80 DD.
The biggest issue she had was that "Red Devil used to be the best brand of vacuum cleaner. She couldn't believe that simply dropping it out of the back of her car would cause it to break"

Not exactly comments but some ammusing anecdotes:
I had a guy come in once ranting and raving that His******** new Electrolux was garbage and it didnt work worth a damn and he expected it repaired under warranty and on and on. When I went to put it on the bench water literally poured out of it. At this point he swore he had never picke up water or left it anywhere wet and demanded warranty. Needless to say he didnt get it. The entire motor was rusted out so it had been sitting in water somewhere. I suspect a flooded basement. Amazing what people will try to get away with and, had he told the truth, he probably would have had it fixed up at minimal cost.
On the flip side I also had an elderly (in her 80's) woman come in with a brand new machine just beside herself. She was almost in tears. Her husband had altzheimers and, in the middle of the night he had decided that the vacuum was the toilet and peed in it. She didnt discover it till several days later. She was really upset as she couldnt afford to replace it and had barely used it. I phoned head office and they offered to replace all the inner works on warranty if she paid the $79.95 labor. I had to soak the damn thing in a garbage can full of bleach overnight to get the smell out of it. What a pissy job. She was so happy when she picked it up though that it was worth it.
