I acquired a vintage Hoover Portable Vacuum in Avacado/Orange with wheels this weekend. Unfortunately, I suspect generations of rodents have made the case their happy home. All attachments are in their proper place, and it powers on like a champ. The J bag and owner's manual have become rodent bedding; and somebody choose to chew quite a hole in the hose. (lovely-as I know from owning other vintage vacuums the hose is often the trickiest replacement part to get).
A Few Questions.
1. are there any vintage vacuum enthusiasts in the Chicago/Milwaukee area who would be up for restoring this for me?
2. I may have found a source for replacement H. Portable parts, Where might I find the model number?
3. Has anyone successfully restored a vaccum which had become a rodent home? (power cord/etc are all untouched)
4. If it is not reasonable to restore the vacuum, is anyone in need of parts off of it? (in particular, all attachments in brown are within the case).
All the best!
