Hi, all! I joined the site to list my grandmother's old Eureka, but have to add that I ended up spending a pleasant hour last night down an interesting "rabbit hole" learning about the vacuum - you've got a great resource here! Vintage vacuums, however, are not a hobby I need to get into (c: and rather than list on ebay or CL, I figured an enthusiasts forum would be a better place to post.
This was my grandmother's (likely purchased new - I remember it from when I was very young), and when she moved to assisted living in the 1990s, I took it home and used it as my garage/car vacuum until I couldn't find bags for it any more. So it's been in my machine shed (we live on a farm) for the past 15+ years. Mice nested inside and the elements took their toll, so it's really only good for parts at this point, and I didn't bother trying to test-run it.
If someone here thinks they can use it for parts, I'd be happy to get $30 (plus shipping from the Peoria, IL area) for it. Happy to take more photos of any details you want, too.
Thanks,
Ed
