Frieze carpet - best floor head to prevent frizzing

So I wanted to poll the experts here for some opinions on the best floor head to prevent frizzing of high pile frieze carpet. I have two different brands - ironically the cheap Lowes stuff in the bedrooms is older but in perfect shape, but the expensive stuff in the hall/stairs is really starting to frizz.

From what I've researched, some types of frieze are supposed to be vacuumed with straight suction - no brushroll. I've been using an old kenmore canister for years (highest height setting) and more recently my Miele with the SEB 228 powerhead (same as the Wessel-Werk EBK360). I'm assuming it was the Kenmore that did the damage over the years since I haven't had the Miele terribly long.

The other thought I had was to get a turbo brush - since they are less aggressive and tend to have softer bristles. I grew up with central vac and a Dupro TK2 (squrish 'Made it Switzerland'). It was great - and I'm partial to a turbo brush (love the sound if it spinning up to speed).

I'm 99% sure I'm going to try to sell my Miele and put in Central Vac - doing some major construction and will have the walls open up anyway.

So, what do you all think? Good power brush with height adjustment? Straight suction like what I've read on manufacture websites? A compromise with a turbo brush? Something like mostly straight suction with bi-monthly brushroll for deeper cleaning? Favorite modern straight suction tools?

Frieze I hate mine worst investment ever as soon as my dog goes to doggy Heaven this carpet goes in the garbage !!!

We had Frieze installed in our old house- Living room and dining room; Really deep pile, like 1"+. We had it a couple years and it was SO hard to vacuum thouroughly, and when we moved it was already starting to get matted, and had dirty dingy paths where we would walk. I deep cleaned it *regularly* with my Hoover steamvac, but it never really looked clean. I hated it, and we had a small piece of the same carpet (leftover from the original installation actually) installed in our laundry room here, now going on two years old and looks terrible. I would just vacuum it with whatever machine cleans the deepest (we had MAJOR issues getting sand out of it, I could vacuum it for HOURS), and don't waste your time and energy trying to save it. Ours was NOT cheap carpet and was professionally installed, but I will never buy Frieze again, because the carpet in this house is mostly 1/2" or so cut pile, and is at least 15 years old, but still looks new. We never had any frizzing issues, but it matted down far too easily, and only looked good for about an hour after being vacuumed. Now actual 70's shag on the other hand is a completely different story- We had the classic 70's green shag in two rooms in another house, and it was always fluffy and soft, and even at 20-30 years old it wasn't matted. In my opinion Frieze is the train wreck of what used to be shag

We have frieze in our family room with hardwood everywhere else. Granted, the carpet is only a year old but the BEST vacuum to clean this carpeting has been our the Wessel Werk "Edge" powerhead that came with our Dirt Devil 990 Pro Series central vac system. We have also had good luck with our 15 year old Miele canister with the SEB 236 nozzle. That would make sense considering they're almost the exact same nozzle. We didn't have the best results with the Miele Twist upright or the Shark Rotator...we ended up returning both. We have a Dyson DC41 that does a nice job but I'd be afraid to use it on a regular basis because the bristles are VERY abrasive!

Ugh, sand

3 years ago we did a renovation and the cats spent the better part of 2 months in a bedroom during the days - with their litter box.

After, I had the carpets professionally cleaned, etc. Fast forward to the fall when I got the Miele w/ the 228/Wessel Werk 360 - it pulled up a *lot* of litter sand that should have been long gone. Ewwww!

So, it sounds like I have a good choice for cleaning the Frieze - just want to prevent it from looking worse over the next few years. I really don't want to replace it under the post-cat era begins in my house. They are all almost 10 years old right now, but have clawed up the carpet in a few spots.
