While replying to DaveVac's thread, I realized there is no thread on exclusively friction drive vacs. What are you guy's friction drive vacuums? I would love to know as there are some very odd ones out there.

Friction and other

Too funny....I have the same 2 friction vacs you have....
I posted pics:
1 - Vital friction vac made in Cleveland patent date 1917..love that one
Vital made another one before this one that I'd like to get someday

2 - Sanitary Special made by Marvel (thanks to you for the ID on it)

3 - Victoria sweeper made in Milford, Ohio....it is very well made with brass
all over it...the base is nice Mahogany wood

4 - Bissell sweeper ...not made any where near as well as the Victoria

5 - Doty bellows type vacuum....the bellows actually go up and down as the
wheels turn....very cool to see in action

6 - Golden Rod plunger type vacuum made by the Hugro Manuf. Co. in Chicago

7 - Reeves vacuum (plunger type) made in Milford, CT

The plunger types actually create suction but a broom and dust pan would be much
easier to operate.

I'm looking for more friction types....the Wireless vac. by Kirby that just sold on eBay went for more than I was willing to part with....it would have fit nicely
in my collection though.

Hoover

I thought Hoover made a friction powered vacuum. I remember seeing a YouTuber I follow showed it. He got it from Mike baldo.
I could be wrong. I have no friction powered vacs or even friction powered toy cars either.

I love the doty

I think you are talking about the presto but am not sure. I actually have a few carpet sweepers as well as a shell of a Superior pumper.
In order:
Torrington Utility (1915)
National Monarch(late 1800s)
Bissell Silver Streak(1930s)
Hugro bellow vac(19??)
Superior

Will post pics tomorrow.

Vacuette

Is that the first model Vacuette ?
I've seen pics of two....one like yours and one with the
the "Wireless" radio tower looking bag...

Both need to be in my collection.....if you ever get tired of yours...LOL

One

Wireless vacuette is the friction powered vacuette. The wired vacuette has a power cord.
The friction powered and wireless are not 2 different models they're one in the same.
I'd love any vacuette. The one on eBay sold for $700 and it's condition wasn't great. I hope the bank account will get larger because vacuettes aren't getting any cheaper.
