Found this old Hoover

Found this old Hoover in a friends house he just purchased. Any idea how old it is?

40s. I think its a model 28.

Good to see the Original Bag

Ask the more experienced collectors to tell you how to polish the Bakelite.

That thing will look great cleaned up. The original bag on those 28's is key because everything else can be repaired or found readily on eBay.

A real workhorse!

That's the famous model 28. straight out of the 1940s.. a MUST have if you collect vacs, especially Hoover. In the early 50s they were made as a commercial line.  There were 2 different types of bag.  Nice find !!

That's a TERRIFIC find -- the original bag is as scarce as hens' teeth!! A little TLC at the Sweeper Day Spa will restore this Faded Beauty to her former glory! I have two of them I want to restore but can't find original bags for them. I've had several others come and go over the years, with slight variations in trim details.

Beautiful model 28! Made from 1946-1950. Enjoy it, it'll last another 60+ years with simple service! So cool to see the original bag! Love my 28, great for daily use...super light weight. Three of my favorite 28 ads...

whatever you do DON'T put that bag in the washer. Make sure you gently clean it by hsnd
