Beyond the common issues the Proheats are known for, the self-propelled mechanism is another thing to break. Sure it was kind of a neat feature on paper, but it did more harm than good.

I've always liked the self propelled feature on Hoovers and Kirbys.

I seen one at the thrift store and there is no info on it at all.

If I had to guess this Singer would be an example of right about when they switched to Bissell. The cord and plug is the same on the later Bissell uprights.

Yeah your referring to the 6583-3 that looks exactly the same as this one.

I vaguely remember those when sold new, they made a pink one as well. One of the last iterations before the Helix came out.
