Both BMW and Mecerdes used to test the RF immunity of their cars electronics in our transmitter site tower feild-esp on the dirt roads going by the transmission lines. Those German guys from both companies were very nice to talk to.Their cars had the oval like license plates on them.Haven't seen them here in years. They were especially fascinated by our German built AEG Telefunken transmitter.S4005 model-500Kw.And it was running at that power when they were testing their cars.We didn't get any rides since we had to operate our transmitters.Would have been neat.

Rick,

It was the same body frame. The Cad's most likely had slightly different springs and shocks to make it more cushy. Most noise insulation--padding. The doors were trimmed differently, ie:, the hinges covered with plastic panels. I had a 76 Coupe and they were nearly identical.

The Cad had a 500 CI engine that drank gas but could perform wonderfully. I also had a 76 Eldo convertible. That was quite a car! You could leave 10 feet of rubber with the front tires from a standstill. (While watching the gas gauge move.)

The Cad was slightly heavier but a great driver. Hard to parallel park or make a U-turn but who cared!

Their is a Cream Buick just like yours Here in Cape Town. I have seen it riding around a few times, It sticks out with its sheer size and awesome exhaust note. I must say I would love to own one.

Eldorado

This is 55 or 56.Looks great! The rear fin styling here was not on other Cadillacs until 57-58.Then the 57-58 Eldorado styling remained unique to them only. After a look at the Sabre Spoke wheels you may want to melt 95% of modern wheels to make more Sabre Spokes!
Elvis had one.Why not you?

How coincidental! I was looking through another stack of my old ads, and came across one for the NEW 1960 Buick! It was a painting, a man touring his family along a sandy path, driving them along in that land-barge Buick! I need to do more scanning, if anybody wants me to scan the Buick add, I'll rush it for you! Saw some Frigidaire stuff too, with the housewife being the queen!

It is a 1956 for certain Cadillac. The Eldorado Seville. Cadillac swiped the name from DeSoto, without any fear of repercussion. I believe Seville meant pillarless hardtop in the DeSoto lineup. Gsheen, if you end up with that car, you will love it!!

Super-sweeper, I love the 1960 Buick lineup, anytime you feel like scanning and posting the ad, please do so at your convenience. Also I love all the old '50's-'60's Frigidaire ads!
