Hey Parwaz, figured this belonged in "Vintage" Since just about every cleaner in the study fits under the category, and I'd better get out of that thread before OliveOilTinfoil gets in a fit about thread hijacking!

Continued from my scraped reply in "Dyson DC41MK2-I must be mad!".....

Parwaz, here are my test results! Should we start a new thread on this?

Anyhow, I've split this into 3 categories, let's start with cleaners that could not make it fully under the bed, and the length (In inches) that they were able to reach under the bed, the bed was about 6 inches high.

Kenmore Duo-Power [Winner-Best in category]--7.5

Panasonic Power-Plus-----------------------------------6.0

General-Electric AVF-26-------------------------------1.0*

Hoover Elite 200------------------------------------------6.0

Sanitare Upright------------------------------------------5.0

Bissell Upright plastic clunkity-chunker------------7.0

Hoover Convertible--------------------------------------3.0

Now, ALL (Except MAYBE that Bissell!) of the above are excellent at vacuuming, next time just move the bed and you'll have deep-cleaned carpets for months!

Wow, some of those pictures sucked!

That Elite doesn't look that dirty in reality! guess it's been sitting too long!

Anyhow, the next category is vacuums that made it fully under the bed, the following winners include:

ORECK XL9100 UPRIGHT

GARRY UPRIGHT

Both are machines with the same purpose, makes sense how they could tie!

The next category is for a machine in it's own category!

The FANTOM! As an upright, the Fantom tested:

FANTOM FURY UPRIGHT-7.0

Now, when we use Dyson's work-around to the "LOL our vacuums can't fit under furniture!", the Fantom goes All the WAY!!!!!

Alex, a most excellent and informative demonstration! " The next time just move your bed " That was really rich, you think some Einstein would've came up with that one before, now. As always, Alex, your genius/common sense is amazing!

Very nice pics! Thanks :) well done on demonstrating these, but looks like in the first set of pics in pic 3 and 7 they don't seem t go under the bed... Lol
Very much appreciated though for sending us the pics and starting a new thread :)

Alex, thanks for starting a great thread! But you just proved something I have always known - the need to have a upright & canister, either straight suction or with powerhead, for cleaning a home. Canisters in general are MUCH more powerful than uprights, are better for tool usage, & can go places an upright simply can't touch.
