Flush Mount Vacuum

Seriously what do you guys think of this Vacuum, it's flush mount and built in the USA. I think it's a great little unit, no need to put it back into the closet.
The best alternative to the conventional Central Vacuum, that needs all the plumbing.

I considered the Intervac GarageVac. It looks closely related to the flush-mount vac. They have some interesting features, and they're made in the USA. The GarageVac sells for about $200 on Amazon.

I ended up going with a small Stihl shop vac instead, because it would be more portable.

Personally, I fell in love with it right away.

Such an neat contraption, a long hose to do all the jobs.

Still, there are 2 points that I cannot get cleared: What about the noise? You still have that vacuum unit around. What about different rooms? This way you still need to hook up the main hose to the main unit, dragging around some 40 foot of hose length compared to some vac outlets in different rooms.

Yet I do like the idea, this vacuum looks neat and nice on top of it all, there is even some hose hanger guard with the garage-type unit (this hanger/shoulder type hose elbow there in the pics).
The filters seem a bit small to me, too. Sort of canister type 5 litres bags.
Yet, the overall look is fine to me. Nice.

I have the garage vac.....

Mounted in my garage. You can get it with the stretch hose or a normal central vac hose. It has a lot of power. The stretch hose has a kick back like normal stretch hoses. I had them build me another stretch hose to couple onto the one I had. They were concerned at first, due to the fact that if I stretched both hoses to the max the airflow/suction would be greatly reduced. I told them I was not going to do this as I just wanted it not to have the kickback when vacuuming the inside of my car.

Anyway they made me one and it works great. I can go to the far end of my garage without stretching the hose at all, so no kick back.

I also used it in my kitchen once, when I broke a light bulb. Picked it all up and I did not have to use one of my premium vacuums.....

The bags will let you pack them pretty full without losing a lot of airflow/suction. The bags are on the expensive side....you also get a filter with each 5 pack of bags to go into the bottom of the bag chamber. There is almost no dust inside the bag compartment and I have had mine for over a year now. I also pick up leaves that blow into the garage and have not clogged the hose yet.

Inter Vac

If somebody wants to get a Central Vac installed in an existing home the InterVac is a great idea and does not cost a whole lot. Sometimes installs on existing homes can be very tricky, like cutting drywall and finding stuff in the way. Ill fitting couplers and the list goes on.....
The cost to have a Central vac with 2 inlets installed on a exisitng home can be over $2000.00 unit included.
