I have never seen a Eureka vac branded with the Firestone Tire store name! Amazingly rare! This is definitely from the early 1960’s since it sports the famous Eureka Lagoon Blue colour of that time. The braided blue hose is identical in colour and striping to the hose that came with our Eureka Super Automatic 260 upright from about 1960 or 1961…

hmmm....

I wonder why Firestone had vacuums made with their name on them ?
Were they for their stores...or giveaways for people that spent huge $$$ there or ??
I like it !

Probably was for their store. They also sold large appliances such as washers and dryers with their name on them, and a cousin of mine once had a Firestone lawn mower! It was a reel type with a Briggs & Stratton engine on it.
Goodyear, on the other hand, sold appliances in their stores with the manufacturer's name on them instead of having them private labeled.

It seems like a lot of chains selling tires and other automotive supplies expanded their offerings to include hardware and housewares...I guess during the massive suburbanization of North America in the 1950's and 1960's. So selling vacuum cleaners made a lot of sense for these automotive stores. Eureka also made vacs for Western Auto stores...I think their brand name was Wizard.
