the cleaning begins

the comutator after cleaning the motor housing has also been cleaned and washed the bottom bearing has been greased and the top one oiled new brushes fitted the whole thing reasembled it runs even quieter now notice the wear on the comutator not bad when you consider how many times it must have revolved over the years

Cool!-the Hoover handles and parts in the garden-looks like you are growing Hoover parts----A vacuum cleaner farm! And yes-the Hoover motors are kinda bulletproof-the rotor's communtator has a groove worn in it-but even that-they still work fine.and the simple "horseshoe" magnet motor stator is intreging.Love how they kept it SIMPLE-good reason why these Hoovers can be still running strong today.

ready for reasembly

this is the main body and hood ready for reasembly the body has had 8 coats of gold paint and then to dull down the bright gold and to add a bit more protection its had 3 coats of clear celullose this just takes the bright shiney look away .The hood has been polished with Brasso then sprayed with celullose this instantly covers up any deep scratches
