You're Sure Right! But I Really Wish I Had More Carpet In My House But Never The Less I Still Have Lot Of Rugs and The Living Room and My Parents Room Have Carpet! I Love Hearing It Beat The Carpet and The Sound Of The Metal Motor!

Actually it's very wise to leave slack in the cord when you are wrapping it (particularly at the point where the cord emerges from the cleaner), to prevent unnecessary strain on the wiring or connectors. You have a fine cleaner there, and it's commendable to see that you take such good care of it.

I'd never thought of leaving slack in the cord, I always wind mine up tightly. I'll be sure to rectify that in future!

sanitaire

your very welcome! i too love the sound of the metal motors and the vg2! it could almost put me to sleep lol! i am getting the newer style st outer bag for my franken eureka. pretty much a sanitaire!

I completely agree, leaving slack in cords is highly recommended. Tight cords can start to fray and have problems at connection over time. Also depending on how you wind, the cord may lean and kink a certain direction if pulled tight. Anyone who uses a power head canister, in particular older style without the cord built into the wands needs to leave slack in the bottom, or else someday down the road, you'll find yourself with wirecutters and electrical time, splicing and repair frayed or broken wires.

I usually don't even like winding the cord up, especially on machines with those stiff, almost plastic cords, because they become molded in a certain position and make cleaning hard. But most of the time I have to due to not having room to have the cords dangling everywhere.
