I bought a Heritage 84 Kirby, but it doesn't say it on the nozzle, but has everything else saying it...so I assume it has had the nozzle changed out at some point

Suprise!!!!!!

Underneath the bump strip is a white sticker with a serial number matching the serial number on the main motor, so I guess its original. So some got the label and others didn't
Who would have thunk it

Could be.. Now I have to source a new label for that not saying 84 is bothering me. I still haven't been able to get the fan off the omega I am trying to build from the ground up. It is seized on there for some reason and I have already damaged the armature to the point it needs to be replaced now. UGH!!!!

Blaze, can you get some penetrating oil like 'liquid wrench' or other on to where the two parts come together, like where the pulley screws onto fan. I'd squirt enough to soak that area, and let it work in for a few hrs. if needed. You may have to fashion something like a drinking straw to get the penetrating oil where you need it. You may have to enlist a helper to hold the motor while you attempt to break it free with hammer and ice pick or other method! Good luck with that Omega. Billy

Blaze,

It's time I have you look at these pages from my Omega service book, again, about fan replacement.

The fan is reverse-threaded; to get it off would mean having to use an ice pick or a special armature removal tool.

No Holes, LOL

This armature has no holes behind the cooling fan. So Im going to buy that tool I guess and then try again. I get a replacement armature and already have new brushes and a fan for it. The fan change went very smooth on the Legend II though. They must have sucked up a lot of metal because the fan case looked sand blasted with gravel, and the blades were very chewed up. I got it all restored though and posted a pic on the other thread.

Hmm

They might have put a armature from a different model. The armature fans do come off. If you are so inclined with a vice and a drill press. Put a hole in it. The Carnage of ripping it out is not advised.
I'm not sure but slowly prying.apart it will pop out eventually. Like c clamps maybe 4 c clamps use 2 screw drivers on each side pulling up I'd imagine the armature would pop up.
One model has bearing plate built in to the motor housing. Omega classic 3 or tradition.
The only thing I remember is I did a cb1 cr1 and cb3 at once and had cb2 for parts. I messed up all of them as I thought they were same body and none were the same.
Good luck
Les
