Finally, after all this time, I found a Eureka Wards in all original and excellent condition!!!

Finally, I found what I have been looking for. I've been looking and looking constantly on ebay for about a year for a Wards made by Eureka in all original condition and the style I wanted.

It was a Wards listed on ebay, but I went ahead and offered to pay a high price for it, since I really wanted it. I hope it will come by this week or next week.

I believe it is a late 60s model, because it does not have dial a nap on the bottom. It has a 2 speed motor and it is all original, nothing replaced on it. Even the brush looks original and looks like it's still in good condition.

As always, I plan to make a video of it running. Not sure if I will get a Vibra Groomer Brush, because the brush it has on it looks like it still works very well.

It looks so cool. It was listed on ebay for the bid starting price of $40. I bidded $150 and thought to myself, "what if someone who really wants it as much as I wanted it, and outbids me." I was not able to pay more than $150 plus shipping. So, I decided to make a deal to the ebayer, a deal he could not resist. $150 plus shipping. I explained how I've been looking for a Wards, and he was understandable.

I was wanting to complete my upright collection with either a Blue 1960s Twin Power Eureka, or a Wards of any style. This machine I am getting is both. It is not blue, but it is a twin power machine, has the bag that looks like the blue bag but is white and has the Wards logo, all original and in clean condition, has a headlight, and does not have a dial a nap.

This will be my final Upright Vacuum, because I only have space in my closet in my room for 4 machines.

The $175 was so worth it for this machine. I am hoping to get it this week or next week. I will post photos and a video.

Re Wards

I have a early 50s Wards upright and the matching tank built by Eureka, great vacuums..

The tank is wild looking...Wards used several manufacturers down thru the years, Eureka, Apex and Westinghouse...Eureka made the tank, its pretty, but about the hardest thing I ever worked on..also I have a earlier Wards/ Eureka tank made of cardboard...The first picture is the cardboard one, just after WW2 there was a terrible steel shortage and a labor strike, Eureka solved this by using a leatherette covered heavy cardboard tube..I will have to take a pic of the upright..its the same grey and green as the 2nd tank.

Those are interesting pics. However, I thought you had a Wards upright from the 50s.

By coincidence--

--I just wiped the dust off of my gray/green MW/Eureka tank as above and its matching MW/Royal hand vac and have the matching upright with original bag on workbench now.They will be in next weeks EBay.The tank is very possibly a Walter Dorwin Teague design as a followup to his 1939 MW tank that used a push button bag door release and had no visible fasteners.Both are tapered.Anyone know more?
These and more will be looking for new homes or someone save me the trouble and bring a truck!

I have the matching green/gray MWs on EBay now(vintage vacuum cleaner).Each with several pictures.Would still like to know if the MW/Eureka tank is a Walter Dorwin Teague design as was the 1939 MW/Apex tank.Anyone know?
