@kenkart I know the feeling. I appreciate you sharing your new vacuum!

Technique is everything.

I see people on YouTube that are swinging that vacuum so fast, you would think you were on Indy.

Slow down, give the machine a chance to work, and you can get good results from an upright, power team, or straight suction machine.

My mother had a good friend for many years, up until her death, that cleaned her home with a straight suction machine. An Electrolux Model G. I would dare you to have found two grains of sand in her entire home.

Edit to add:
I want a Henry, but it will have to wait, unfortunately my check book says I have been buying too many vacuums lately. (I just won an auction on another Filter queen, a 360 for $66.) I have been on a Filter Queen kick lately it will be by fourth.

technique is important,

@kenkart its always enjoyable hearing someone obtain a vac that they really or have always wanted ( or just a new addtion actually), thx for letting us enjoy it with you !!haha

@kirbysthebest- what you said is SOOOO true!!!! vids on youtube almost always show the vacuumer moving the vac so fast....not much will prob be picked up. I know that b/c I've tested carpet with a Kirby dirtmeter going moving fast on the carpet....and going slow, no comparison.

technique and dirt left behind

You can certainly cleana carpet with straight suction but you will probably have to work at it more in order to get it as clean as a spinning brush would do, but it is possible.
No vacuum will get all of the dirt out of a carpet, if you go back over it again you will get more out. I'm not sure if this is still done but apparently that's how the Kirby sales people convince people that the Kirby is a much better cleaner, they will have them clean their floors with their own vacuum, then they will clean with the Kirby and show the home owner what their vacuum missed. Of course, what they don't tell them is that every vacuum will miss things. If the Kirby was used first and then another vacuum, the second vacuum would get dirt that the Kirby missed.
