well, I won an ebay U4127. The green convertible. It arrived Completely filthy, scummy dirty. It smells, the bojak outer bag is ripped to shreds all along the bottom. You look down and see the bellows. The bubble wrap is filthy. They even inclouded Rubbermade bags for a KENMORE. I MUST calm down BEFORE I "contact seller" Postage was $23.99. This was a total waste of money. I can olny imagine what it sounds like. Also, what does their HOUSE look like? I had to run my pristine u400.... to regroup. Thanks for listening.....

Yeah...

But with something like that, you can take "before" and "after" shots. The U4127 is a very simple, basic machine to work on. Rip it all apart, wash it all down, re-grease it, change the brush strips, belt, run the bag through the washing machine... give it the "spa" treatment.

I'd see it as a fun challenge/project; not necessarily a waste of money.

I agree with Fred on this one. The ones that look awful can make for some of the best before and after pictures and really show off a collectors restoration skills.

I'd start by just wiping it down and once you start to see the potential of the cleaner, you might begin to change your mind.

I'd like to know how & what grease etc too

but to be honest
I don't expect clean vacs
nice if they r tho
bags r replaceable
a bojack bag is no prize no big deal its bad
should have mentioned that in the auction though

sure they picked it up w those bags
probably know lil about it
so they sent what they had

bubble wrap is nice
but I;m ok w plain wadded up newspaper
once I got one with nothing at all
just a box
luckily it didn't smash itself to pieces

alot of $10 buck vacs arent worth it due to shipping costs
but it does cost that much to ship a vac

part of the joy is uncovering the forgotten beauty of these machines that lies beneath years of toil.
I get a thrill at giving them a makeover & letting them strut there stuff again feeling loved.

Your vac needs you
don't be so hard on it...

LOL

Greeting cards...Hmmmm Maybe I should...

LOL

Maybe I should do something
could use some spare vac cash
LOL
It has been said that I do have the gift for bringing words to life...

Thanks for the compliment
but truth as it may be is

I just write from the heart...
