Filter Queen Wet Vac????? ebay.

WTF?? There is a Filter Queen Wet vac on ebay right now....????????? check it out,, has any one seen or heared of this ?

Ya, saw that ad last week and laughed. That's a commercial pan on the model 31, for DRY pickup. To my knowledge, there is no wet pick-up kit for a Filter Queen. Anyone else know?

Actually Filter Queen did put out a wet pickup attachment in the 1980's. It was kind of a clumsy pie shaped affair a little over 4' long that fit on the end of the hose and had its own wet pickup nozzle. If memory serves me it was white with blue trim. The vacuum itself was never wet pick up though.

The FQ vacuum was not originally designed to pick up liquids-I have seen it done though-A vac shop tech vacuumed a small amount of cleaner he used to wipe down a vacuum housing with his FQ-his secret-the FQ container was already full of debris.The FQ motors are not the full bypass motors now required for wet pickup capable vacuums-IE the suction fan is in its own housing seperate from the motor-the motor has its own cooling fan.I would think the special attachment held the liquid before it could reach the main machine-and probably had a shutoff valve float to stop airflow when the water got too high.

I just recieved some information from a very knowledgable friend on this subject.

First off - the attachment which I mentioned earlier was called the Aqua Queen.

More importantly, Filter Queen actually DID make a wet/dry machine. It was the model 530 and was put out during the mid 1950’s. It came with a rubber hose, and a float that went into a 5 gallon pan.

So I stand corrected. Thanks for the help T.

I am very curious to see a F/Q model 530 wet/dry machine.. Any one have pics?

I have the Aqua Queen attatchment, and now I ,,know what it is for.

I will post a pic of it in the next day or so.
