Filter queen majestic filter change

I have a Filter queen majestic 75yr anniversary edition that I love. I was wondering what is the recommendation for changing the charcoal cone filter and the other smaller filters? I want my machine to stay clean inside so I want to do this as frequently as is necessary. Also, I really enjoy reading all the posts. I guess there is a place for me in this world! I love vacuum cleaners!

I would think changing the Charcoal Filter would be the same as if you were using the Medipure Filter....that it should be changed after 6 months, or every 6 filter cones. Also, the small disc filter inside the cone....if you are using genuine filter cones, you should get a new one in every 12 pack of cones, so since Health-Mor suggests changing the filter cone once a month, I would think that disc filter should be changed once a year, when you are done using your pack of filter cones.

Kirbylux77 is correct. I'm just going to supplement with some knowledge from my company experience.

The Activated Charcoal filter is the MediPure cone. There is a white calendar tab inside the MediPure cone. The activated charcoal should be replaced every 6 months. The calendar on that tab is there as a reminder for you to circle which month it will be due for replacement. This cone is optional!!! It's primary function is the activated charcoal to prevent any odors escaping with use of Majestic. Primarilly it is recommended to homeowners with pets or tobacco smoke or heavy odors and gases from other sources in the home.

The regular Cellulose cone should be replaced once a month. Reason behind this is that the AntiMicrobial coating that is on that cone is only effective for one month. This cone is your primary filter for the Majestic. Always ensure that 3 tabs are visible from outside once motor is locked into place. Additionally when checking pollution container, ensure that no dust falls to the inside "Hospitable White" section of the cellulose cone. The Cellulose cone should always be "Hospitable White" on the motor side. No dust, dirt, germs or bacteria will ever penetrate that cone.

***Upon installation of new cellulose cone, the pollution container gasket should be wiped clean, this will ensure a good seal.

The Pre-Motor filter which is located underneath the ABS cone guard on motor base should be CHECKED at least bi-monthly, and cleaned or replaced as needed!! This filter is an extra protection for the motor in the event that the cone was not installed correctly or dust gets into the cone upon user removing cellulose cone. YOU WILL NOTICE A CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE OF MACHINE IF ANY DUST GETS ON THAT FILTER!!! The premotor filter is washable, vacuumable or can be banged out on side of trash can. One of these filters is included with every pack of cones.

The post motor felt filter located in your scent chamber exhaust cap up top should be flipped over or washed about every 6 months. The velcro is stapled on and is designed to be removed and restapled to the other side. These filters should last about 3 yrs, depending on condition, frequency of washing etc. They are only about 79 cents to replace.

Motor protection filter-I REPLACE mine when I used my Filter Queen after each pack of cones.When I bought a Filter Queen vacuum at a yard sale--the user didn't put a cone in the bin-so the motor filter had to be replaced-wand unclogged,neck of the powernozzle were both stuffed with Christmas Tree needles.The FQ machine now runs perfectly.The Filter Queen salesmen I had visit suggested the motor filter should be replaced after using a pack of cones-and its mentioned in the machine operators manual.

My 1978 Filter Queen still has the original pre-motor filter disc in it. Since no dust penetrates the filter cone, no dust ever got onto the pre-motor filter disc. I use Filter Cones that are decades old in my machines, no dust ever gets past the cone. I personally see no reason for the charcoal filter, if you want to overcome odors, just put some fragrance on the exhaust cap filter. Just my opinion.

The Filter Queens I have seen-in vac places where the motor filters got really bad was if the machine was used for drywall or fireplace ash cleanup.A drywall contractor even asked me about the cones-I suggested to him to use two in the bin instead of one-it worked for him-he liked the idea.When I was in the Wash DC area-drywall contractors liked to get used Filter Queens and Compact-TriStars for drywall job clean ups.Both of these worked well.Drywall dust and ash are very fine and can pass thru the cone.Esp if the user really fills the machines dust bin.-As drywall guys often do-remember these folks are not vacuum cleaner guys.Their main job is "hanging rock" as they call it.I have had to do some myself -in high school vocational shop class-(built a house and remodled basements)and after high school-worked during a summer for a contractor.Did everything from digging ditches for house footings to hanging "rock".
