the 15' brown FQ electric hose has been extinct for some time.
So after a fruitless search, I decided to make one of my own.
First I hit up a local vacuum shop and bought two old FQ hoses, one had a tear towards the front, the other had a wear spot towards the suction inlet. I fused them together and made a 15' brown FQ hose all my own.
See the pictures below.....

Almost finished

Glued the hose ends and adapter then fitted each section together. After that, I twist connected and soldered the wires, then insulated each wore in individual heat shrink tubes.I made sure to insulate both connections individually and I made sure to insulate them well so there is no possibility of a short. After the joint cured, I wrapped it in brown heat shrink tape twice for a seamless bond and pleasant appearance.

Wow,,awsome job on that hose! I like the 9 (or whatever) Ft. hose on my Majestic Tripple Crown,,and also like the gas pump handle on that hose.

I do love Filter Queen,,and was raised around them,,many relatives and neighbors had FQs.

My only gripe is the pityful Pow R Nozzle,,as they call it.

Have not used the newer ones, but the older ones were/are just not that great for thicker napped carpet, which is what most of us have!

Can you imagine trying to vacuum the OLD LONG SHAG carpets with one of those?

Im affraid you werent getting much vibration,or agressive deep cleaing.

I think at one time FQ had some sort of a rake that you could put on the bumper of the PN housing.

Those old PNs are fine on thinner, no nap carpet tho.

Also not much edge cleaning action. The older FQ PNs wont edge clean at all.

Pityful Pityful.

Id love to have a hose made for my FQ where i could use a Eureka PN with a VG 1 or 2 in it.

AAhh well,,,if i wanna deep clean,,i'll bring out the Kirby Classic Omega!

My Repair guy has been in the business for over 35 yrs and says that of the thousands of times, he has NEVER EVER taken apart a Filter Queen motor (where the Authentic FQ Cellulose Cones have always been used) that was dirty,,or even had one speck of dust or dirt in it.

I would have to say that is one Excellent filtering vacuum cleaner.

That's awesome!!

Great job! Where did you obtain the hose coupler? Would you be able to take a picture of the seam in the middle of the hose? I'm curious as to how you sealed it up.

Filter Queen hose

Thank you.
I am going to be making another one soon.
One of my friends suggested making a video of the process. I am going to make a video of the process from start to finish.I wish I could have taken more pics but once I had the glue curing I had to work fast with the wiring and could not many pics. I also had an incident where I nearly glued my right hand to the hose. I can imagine that if I had not been able to free my hand, that would have made a memorable day for the personnel at the ER.
In my up and coming video I will be filming the process step by step and how I wired the hoses together and how to secure the seams.
