Alright, so I was at the local goodwill, and I saw a red fairfax, with most of the attachments. But heres the kicker: it was $249. I am going back tomorrow to see if it will be half off, but stil, is even $125 worth it? (I'll trey to snap a picture o it while I'm there, if the vacuum is still there.

Thanks and merry Christmas!

I don't know I guess I just jumped because this was the first time I had ever saw one in person.thanks for the advvice.

They are unique machines. Harder to get parts for. Fun to look at. Very retro. Made them until at least the mid 90s I know. By then they were black instead of red.

They were expensive when new, but finding a used one isn't overly difficult. I think there are better deals out there than $125. If its inl good condition, and complete, I do not think $125 is too unreasonable.

You be the judge! You may love it. They are not the most powerful machines, but I think they are great in their own way.

I have my parents red one that they bought in the 90's, and I believe they bought it brand new for $1890... A lot of money for the machine, but I still use it, and its fun to use. The only problem is that you cant really find parts anywhere except for the economy vac website that supplies almost every part in the machine, and I believe they sell the machines brand new. Heres a link to the site if anyone is interested.

Honestly, I'd check out eBay and find a better deal. I used to have one and I really didn't like it. They aren't very powerful, but like Brandon mentioned, they are very neat and fun to look at. I gave mine to another collector, and I sometimes miss it, just because of the looks. It is a great conversation piece. It all depends on how much you want it though. Honestly, if I had never seen one in person and I really wanted it and happened to have the money, I probably would have gotten it for that price, but now I know that i wouldn't.

fairfax on ebay

there is a nice fairfax on ebay in the vintage vacuum section. Starting at 49.00. They are neat looking, but, as a working vac, there are alot BETTER choices. Just my opinion.
