Fairfax Vac Quetion

I have a Fairfax vacuum that has the plastic tub and wheel base. The motor housing in chrome. The tub and castor base are white with red labels and trim. The power nozzle is red with sparkles. I'm thinking that it is probably from the '90s. I'm curious if anyone has any information about this vacuum and when it was made. I can find no information about this vacuum have plastic parts with red labels or that is made in Canada.

The model number is SCPD7 (I find lots of this model, but they are different from mine)
The serial number is 928681
The style is VCFX3
Made in Ontario, Canada
The power nozzle says Apollo.

I have the exact same machine as yours. I have the original manual for the carpet cleaner attachment and for the machine itself with the original sales receipt in it. I have all of the original attachments for mine, as well as the power nozzle and the original carpet cleaner attachment still in box, although mine is not in the shape yours is in. The one my grandma has looks like its in the same shape as yours. Heres the receipt. It was made in 1992 by the Apollo Flo-Tru Corp. according to the carpet cleaner attachment manual, and Eco Vacuum MFG. Corp., on the main manual for the machine. Cool vac's, although expensive when they were bought new. According to this sales receipt, it cost right round $2000 for the machine.

Oh and by the way, the attachments should be a solid red colour, like the hose cuffs that connect the hose to the handle on the hose. If you need anything else, feel free to ask

In addition to the power nozzle, it looks like most of the attachments are actually made by the Eureka Company. They must have had some sort of contract to provide the attachments to Fairfax.

Thanks for the info. It was extremely helpful. I have pretty much everything that came with it, minus a couple of the wand attachments. The shampooer was never taken out of the box and the power nozzle and vacuum cleaner are almost new looking. My neighbor gave it to me and said that she had only used it a few times. She didn't like it. I turned it on and I thought it was going to suck through the floor.

I'm not sure that I'm going to keep. Although it is very cool and retro looking, it because it is pretty cumbersome.

The attachments are basically red Eureka attachments. They look exactly like the ones that NuTone used to use, and they too were Eureka attachments... my Aunt has some. I like them personally, they work good. Margaret, do you happen to have a picture of the hose? Does the wire run outside of the hose? or is it built in to the hose?

I have a somewhat newer SCPD7 with a two pin pig-tail for the hose/power nozzle. It's a very powerful machine, a great deep cleaner and grooms the carpet very nicely. You can use the Kenmore 50557 HEPA bags if you need better filtration. Don't use the thick cottony filter that is often found tucked up under the motor dome (between the motor and the cloth disc filter), it restricts the airflow too much. Just keep the cloth disc and the paper disc along with the bags. That is really all you need. I love my Fairfax. It's one of the vacuums that I would hate to lose.

These are great vacuums, just make sure you keep the bags changed. You can find all Fairfax parts on the vacuum company web site. They are still made in Texas and are now about $1400.00 bucks.

I have just bought a Fairfax vacuum/carpet shampoo machine atan auction it did not have a manual and was wondering if I could get a copy from someone. It is red white and chrome.
