Not like they used to be for most people, but this will help. It's also easier on the server and having the pictures display like this is more modern and convenient for most users as well.

In a few hours I will launch this site-wide.

Sort of worked using IE 11

It took a few attempts to upload all in one go - came up with errors in the URL or something. only loaded 4 of the original 6 photos so I had to go back and try again to load the other 2 this time one at a time, then it worked. Using IE 11.


 


It seems to open the full size view in a new window.

Just added the maximum photos to see if they all load. I'm using Safari on a Mac using 10.9.2.

Thanks everybody for tests. I launched it site-wide for now. If there are too many issues I will pull it out temporarily.

Steve I'll look into IE and it opening in a new window and not tab, I believe IE has had issues with that.

Let me know if anyone has any major difficulties with this. On the mobile site for now I have both upload options available (both the old and the new one) as certain Droid and Windows Phone users have had issues with the new ones that I need to correct. Seems that iPhones are working perfectly with this, so only the new version is showing for iPhone users.

I'm using Safari 5.1.7. None of the pics are uploading.

Hi Kevin, I assume you are on a Mac? If so can you try uploading them using Firefox instead of Safari? The reason I ask is I want to make sure it's just Safari and not you local machine.

Problem for upgraded members - Editing function

The picture posting is not working for me now on other threads. If I try to edit a previous post and then include a picture, it goes through the process, but when you hit "post this to vacuumland", it loses the picture and posts with no picture. Tried this several times using the edit function and it wont post pictures.


 


It doesn't work on this thread either. Editing this to try to include a picture - it loses the pic and posts without it.

Oooooh whoops, you're right Steve, I just tried it. I'll work on getting that fixed today. Thank you so much for reporting it.

Kevin you might try Safari again, as well if you wish. It works perfectly in Safari on our Mac here and it could have just been the server was acting up at that time.

OK thank you again Steve, that bug is fixed, you can now add photos in Edit mode properly.

Now tested this on another thread and it works OK there too - so that bug seems solved!

So now I've changed the full size option, instead of a link, there is now a check-box called View Full Size on the gray bar above the pictures. If you check that box all images will be show in full size right in the thread instead of taking you to a new tab or window. I think this works much better!

Let me know if you guys have any bug/tech issues with that, the difference is much more noticeable on a desktop computer as opposed to mobile phones.

Hi Nicholas, just like it was in the old system, you simply right click on the photo and depending on the browser there is an option to save the picture.

The three options it gives me are: Bookmark This Link, Copy Link Location, and Inspect Element(Q). Single images work fine. I'm running Firefox on Windows 7.

I just noticed this today, you're always making this site a cooler place!


 


I went to try and test this but got stuck at %67 loading, I'm on Windows 7 Google chrome if that helps!


Here's my share of test images! I'll try to get on an android tablet later today for those tests you requested above!

 


EDIT-I got a ton of lag trying to upload-I got to 7 pictures, after that none more would load, and I got stuck at %67 again!

And it didn't!

I'm betting it has something to do with the Junior memberships, this time it loaded %100, yet did not post. It gave me a Blue arrow in the circle where a "+" or "-" appears, when I tried to upload the picture of Lady Electrolux below!


 


EDIT-Still more lag- had to refresh my page since pressing "Post without previewing" didn't do a thing. buggy, but on it's way!

Don't worry Alex, we'll get it working together.

Can you try it in another browser such as Firefox or IE? How recent is your Chrome? I'm curious if it's the browser or the connection. Could be the server was slow for some reason at the time you tried. I designed it in Chrome on Windows 7 and 8 so I know it works there, my Chrome is Version 35.
