I've come across some reviews recently posted that have revealed a different non-electric tube design and new turbo brush on the new Miele C3 Euro Eco versions - I think, based on the claims on the unit decal (example in link).

These new parts appear to be associated with the launch of the new low wattage vacuum versions required in the EU. I wonder if they've designed a more constricting airflow to maintain a proper level of airflow?

The new tube seems to have more robust extension components, with the frailty of the current tube buttons sometimes viewed with criticism... that may now be fixed, at the expense of a less sleek and more plastic clad look. The turbo brush with its clear window looks very Dyson. Anyone have any additional knowledge around these new components?

New Miele

I'm still interested in new vacuums, even they won't show up in the US.

I do find it amusing that he keeps referring to vacuum cleaning as hoovering. British slang.

I guess the only vacuums that will be free of the EU regulations will be those made outside the EU and sold on the UK market. Vacuum buyers in the UK may be able to buy 2000 watt vacuums from Numatic and Shark and Dyson and Vax I suppose. But I can’t imagine Miele or Sebo or Bosch creating a line of superwattage Made in Germany vacuums just for the UK market. But maybe it’s a possibility?

It is possible that the British vacuum market is too small to make it economically worthwhile to produce special models only for the UK market. Not sure how this will play out, really.
