I ran into this and considered buying it to fix up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is NOT the original bag, is it???

I recall a white bag with the word EUREKA in black letters.

Any thoughts or insight?

Nice Eureka Steven...

I bet you are right about the bag....the pattern looks right for the vac, but it should have a plastic decal or "stick-on" that is a vertical version of the brandname on the Dial-A-Nap nameplate. Some of the lower end Dial-A-Naps had the name printed on the bag, but others had a nice shiny name tag glued on......

If you see some adhesive or remnants of a vertical rectangle on the bag, then the name tag has fallen off. This could also just be a generic Eureka replacement bag from just a few years after you were born - mid 1970's, I'd say. But again the design of the bag is almost indentical to the original.

I bought one of these when they were new, and I remember the same bag as you describe. This model had a metal handle, yes? I bought it for my parents lakehouse, so I didn't see it that much.

Thanks Brian and Rick.......

A friend's Mom had one of these when I was growing up. I recall a vertical "Eureka" label to the right of the handle as you face it.

It BUGS me that it's not there. Having trouble getting past that.....

And yes, Rick. I does have the metal handle. The plastic handles make me nuts. I just never liked the give they have. They seemed so breakable.

Not the original bag

My Grandmother bought one of these. That is not the original bag. The original was a white bag, no pattern and it did have the Eureka logo as described earlier.

With that said, the bag that is on this machine is a better quality bag than the original. Thicker quality vinyl bag. This bag pattern was on the Eureka top of the line upright with cordwinder and an extra power switch in the back of the handle grip. The base was a nice deep blue color with a chrome hood, with the rugulator slide for adjustment.
