I have been in the process of finding a good vacuum to use everyday, and I decided to go out and get one today. I got the "Eureka SurfaceMax at Target for $149. I am thinking about taking it back.... First of all, the wands swivel to the right, so when you are vacuuming, the whole handle turns very easily, so its hard to clean with the power nozzle. The neck of the hose does not swivel, so thats a downer. The attachments are very small, as well as the bag. And I just cannot stand the hose. The only thing I do like about it is it is compact. I really wouldn't recommend it though. It was either that or the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser, which actually looks like a pretty solid vacuum. I am thinking about taking the Eureka back and getting the Bissell Clean Along. I used to have the GE gold one, and it was really an AMAZING vacuum. The suction was superior, and the power nozzle was nice to get under furniture with, and the bag is not tiny. So, I would like to see what any other people's opinions are, the Bissell Clean Along, or the Pet Hair Eraser, which is the same as the Momentum and the Velocity, except for a few different attachments. Or I even looked at the Green Hoover Windtunnel "T Series". So if anybody has any opinions on them, please let me know! Thanks.

WARNING!!!!

DO NOT GET THE HOOVER T SERIES!!! it is a piece of junk and it has a mess of problems and if you did not like the eureka tools than you will HATE! the hoover tools. If you want a bagged vacuum get the bissell clean along or power foce I have a power force and it cleans extreamly well but if you want bagless I recomend any bissell dual cyclonic vac, they are great and dont lose suction and you barely ever have to clean the filters, there single cyclonic and multi cyclonic vacs are sub par at best.

In my opinion for a new vacuum either get yourself a Kenmore Progressive bagged upright for $149, or get a Panasonic upright or canister

I agree with Sam

Miejer stores
here in col. have a 99.00 Panasonic as well as a much better
model at $149.00 eith are great. I think Wallmart or K mart
have one of them also.

No on the T series

I purchased a T series about three or four weeks ago and it was nothing but problems, first thing the cord rewind broke, then after taking it apart and fixing it, the plastic clip that holds the turbine attachment snapped so it would no longer hold the tool. Two days later I noticed that the motor would "bog down" when pulling it back on my freeze carpet.

bissell velocity

I have had a bad experience with the Bissell velocity, it lost suction quickly and started falling apart the moment I started using it, the machine was LOUD and bulky and spat dust everywhere. in my opinion the pet hair eraser is just as bad. bissell needs to really work out the bugs on these machines. as far as the bagged uprights I cannot complain as these do hold up better on the suction and groom rather nicely. anything panasonic or kenmore is usually a plus as far as their canister line goes and their bagged uprights are phanominal.
good luck to you
Mike
