will eureka rd belts fit on my eureka 2042? if not what belts do i need

Yeah,
the RD belt is pretty much universal on Eurekas as far as I know. As long as your Eureka has a round belt pulley and groove in the brush roll, it is the right one. The Style RD belt is used on Sanitaire machines, and it's even used on my old Wards!
